Slight rubbing to lettering on spine, else a fine, bright copy in very good dust jacket toned and spotted on the spine with shallow loss and a small chip at crown else quite fresh and bright. *Freebooters of the Wilderness*' is a novel set in the American West about the United States Forest Service, Land Management, and the exploitation of natural resources. Laut also contributes a five-page ""Foreword," discussing the factual basis of the novel and the threats to American natural resources in the early twentieth century. Agnes Christina Laut was born in Stanley, Ontario, educated at the University of Manitoba, and moved to upstate New York in 1901, where she lived her later life. The American edition was published by Moffat, Yard in same year.
