Unbound. First edition. Single sheet folded to make four pages. Slightest soiling, else a fine copy. Muriel Spark's first appearance under her married name (Spark), and preceded only by a broadsheet issue of a prize-winning school poem, written under her maiden name (Camberg), which is known to exist in only a single copy. In the introduction, Spark and Sergeant state: "Because we believe there is an urgent need for the formulation of true critical standards which can be applied with equal discrimination to the poetry of all ages, movements and forms, and which will stand the test of changing values and ideologies, we publish the first of a series of pamphlets explaining the REASSESSMENT method of criticism by means of a detailed chart overleaf, and the method of application, described on the back cover... ." No further pamphlets are believed to have been published by Spark and Sergeant. *Rees* A2. Rare. *OCLC* locates two copies.
