Inscribed on the second leaf: "Especially signed for Ridie[?] with love— Inez Hunt." Fictionalized account for children of a slave who escaped to Nicaragua and later built a hotel in Denver. Inspired by the book *Mr. Barney Ford, a Portrait in Bistre*, by Forbes Parkhill. *OCLC* locates five copies, four of which are in Colorado.
