Hardcover. Avondale edition. Four loose volumes only (of 6): Vol. 1: The Turn of the Century; Vol. 3: Pre-War America; Vol. 4: The War Begins, 1909-1914; Vol. 6: The Twenties. Copy no. 89 of 770 sets printed. Vol. 1 inscribed by the author to B.P. Schulberg, with Schulberg’s ownership stamp on the front pastedown of each volume. Publisher’s quarter beige cloth and dark blue cloth over boards, black spine labels with gilt lettering, gilt tops. All four volumes have mylar covers with both flaps neatly taped to the pastedowns with one small strip of clear tape. Toning to the endpapers, all four volumes have old dry light dampstaining to the edges of the text block, hinges are tender, one or two are partially split (all holding snug), some scattered tearing to the spine labels, fair overall. From the library of the legendary American screenwriter Budd Schulberg, best known for his Academy Award-winning screenplay for *On the Waterfront*.
