(Photo album): Voyage to the Alaskan Coast, circa 1910

Price: $1,200.00

Softcover. Oblong quarto. 12" x 8". Screw-bound, flexible black leather wrappers. Front joint cracked but holding, else very good or better. Contains approximately 114 gelatin silver photographs. Various sizes with the average perhaps 5" x 3" with some both larger and smaller. Most are near fine or better with a few modestly worn. No captions, except for one on the verso of one image mentioned the Alaskan Cruise. Generous selection of images, with 90% or more taken on or from shipboard, with scenes of the male and female travelers, ship's personnel, scenery, fishing images, glaciers, icebergs and ice floes, and a whaling station with a whale in the foreground. Almost all the images not on shipboard are of a dockside, Kwakiutl Indian tribes people, homes, and totem poles. A nice and homogeneously subject specific album, with pleasing images.
