A collection of images and a program from an Asbury Park, New Jersey fashion show in the 1960s featuring African-American models. The photos were taken by “Carter” and feature the photographers stamps on the verso of each image with the address, “1521 Bangs Ave. Asbury Park, N.J.” The show dubbed “La Femme Folitique Fashion Show,” was to benefit the Bethel A.M.E. Church Building Fund. The images feature women posed in fashionable clothes at the event with onlookers at tables around the stage. Performing the music for that night was a local band called The Squires.
