Softcover. Second edition. Tall octavo. [16]pp. Foreword by William F. Neil. Frontispiece portrait from a photograph. Printed in blue and red. Stapled decorative wrappers. Staples a little darkened, else fine. A dozen poems, including a brief drama in verse. The poem *Negro Soldiers* was first published in the September, 1917 issue of *The Crisis*. Very scarce. The only copies that *OCLC* locates are of the second edition, very likely indicating either that there was no separate first edition, or that the issue of *The Crisis* in which the title poem appeared was considered by the publisher and author to be the first edition.
