Shufeldt's copy with her name penciled on the front fly, in a good only edgeworn dustwrapper with spine ends and corners chipped, one inch tear on top edge of front panel. Shufeldt's mother, Narcissa Cox Vanderlip was a suffragist who helped found the "League of Women Voters". The author's first novel and winner of the U.S. National Book Award for Fiction in 1958.
