Sold
Hardcover. First and likely only edition. Small octavo. 43, [1]pp. Printed yellow stitched wrappers. Chipping on front wrap with slightest loss of cover text, a contemporary pencil note: "Published Feb. 24, 1893," a good only copy. The ladies of a church invoke the name of the Greek poetess Sappho and describe in verse, drama, and song the individual projects undertaken by the church's women to raise money for a new church carpet. Each woman is named in the text for a public performance presented on February 24, 1893. Rare and not a little bit odd. *OCLC* locates a single copy, in Maine.
