New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1930.
Hardcover. Stated First and Second Printings Before Publication, thus essentially a second printing. A couple of smudges on the boards, very good or better in a good plus dustwrapper split at front spine fold, with moderate chips and tears. Inscribed by the author on the half-title: "To The Rev. Father Kelly Rector of the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle With the compliments of the Author, Most Sincerely Yours, Bata Kindai Amgoza Ibn Lobagola. May 16th, 1930." An interesting hoax, the author was really Joseph Howard Lee, an African-American from Baltimore who eventually died in Attica Prison.
