Inscribed by Seldes to his daughter the Tony Award-winning actress Marian Seldes: "To Marian hoping she'll do it eventually. G. S. 1930-1970 with love. Small post-it noting that she appeared in a version of the play in California in 1955. Laid in is a program for a 1946 Broadway performance of the play. This version of the play was used by the Limited Editions Club version which was illustrated by Picasso.
