An archive of photographs kept by Donald Larson while serving with the Navy in Korea and Japan during the Korean War. The images are taken in Yeongdeungpo, Korea, Yokahama, Japan, and The Philippines and document military encampments, travel, and local citizens in the various countries. One photo in captioned, “Korean girls jumping on a see-saw board;” another reads, “a cheerful little shoe shine boy.” Larson includes street scenes, temporary military buildings, and views from the water. On one image of a medical helicopter he writes, “this is a helicopter airplane used for air rescue work and transporting injured soldiers to hospitals. Patients are put inside the pods on stretchers.” Another photo reads, "the man in the white cap is MacArthur" and shows a small group of men talking with the general in the distance. Other images show Larson on leave at home posed with girls in his uniform.

A modest but interesting collection of images from the Korean War.
