A couple’s travel photo album from their attempt to visit all 50 states in United States during the summer of 1982. The couple, Stephen Brewster and his wife, start off in California and begin traveling east to Nevada in their camper van. The states they visit include Utah, Tennessee, South Caroline, Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, South Dakota, Montana, Minnesota, Georgia, Iowa, Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana, and Virginia. Mrs. Brewster takes most of the photographs of the landscape, wildlife, and of her husband, “if you gotta see, you gotta see.” Their pictures include shots of each state line sign they cross and a couple photos from the actual state. There are pictures of the salt flats in Nevada, Old Faithful in Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore, the Bad Lands, the Lincoln Monument, Washington’s house, and Temple Square in Utah, “The love of my life on out anniversary sitting beside one of the fountains in temple square.” One of the pictures shows snow falling all around outside while the Brewster’s are driving through Nevada in May. Another is a picture of the Brewster’s in front of a sign for Brewster, Ohio, “We finally found our town!” They take several pictures of the wildlife seen in the Midwest like buffalo, wolves, rams, goats, deer, and a couple pictures of a small bear cub climbing a tree. The final portion of the album shows the couple visiting friends for the fourth of July before heading back out on their journey to all 50 states.
A charming couple’s photo album from 1982 during their trip to several mid-western states in the United States.
