A handmade manuscript by female students at the Cortland Academy in New York in the 1870s most likely as a senior project. The editors are listed as Miss Laura Scott, Miss Laura Stillman, Miss August Hyde, and Miss Jennie Reandall. Their names are written in the middle of the title, “The Wreath of Wild Flowers” in a circular wreath style. The handwritten pieces are compiled by other students and edited and collected by the four girls and a few of their edits can be seen here. Titles include “Where is Solitude,” “The Schoolgirls Lamentation,” “Thoughts of Leaving School,” and “Soliloquy of a Young Housekeeper.”

A nice handmade manuscript created by female students in the 1870s.
