Inscribed by the author to his father: "To Dad in memory of Maida Vale 1917 and many other things and plans and for things past and to come from 'The Author' Maida Vale, London 1 April 17." Book about the War by a leading American journalist. Seldes's father George Seldes, was the founder of the Utopian colony of Alliance, New Jersey, was a Russian Jewish immigrant who was philosophically and fiercely radical, a trait he passed along to both Gilbert and his brother George, Jr., who was also a famed journalist and author. A very scarce title.
