Cleveland: Burrows Brothers Company, 1905.
First edition. 12mo. 297pp. Red-brown cloth stamped in black. Some scuffing on the boards, overall about very good. Started on the titlepage: "Written under the pseudonym, Harold Edson" which, considering his real name also appears on the titlepage, seems to defeat the purpose. Signed by the author on the titlepage: "Asa Z. Hall, Eaton, Colo." Hall was both a Baptist pastor and a homeopathic doctor. Dedicated by the author to the entire African-American race. Although Hall was white, this novel was later republished in The Black Heritage Library Collection.
