Fayette, Iowa: 1889.
Unbound. Two albumen images, each mounted on thick card. Modest evidence on verso of having been removed from an album, near fine. The first image is gelatin silver and is 7 5/8" x 6" mounted on a slightly larger card. Labeled "U.I.U. Cornet Band. Fayette May 13, 1889" in a contemporary hand. It depicts 12 horn players and two drummers. In the margin beneath the image is listed the name of each player and his instrument. The second image is a carbon print and is 9 7/8" x 5" and shows 13 horn players and one drummer, and is identified as the U.I.U. Cornet Band in a later hand, presumably in the hand of the person who removed them from a single album. Two very pleasing images.
