Hardcover. A collection of 86 loose black and white gelatin silver photographs measuring between 2" x 3.5" and 8" x 9" with some captions. All photos are about near fine with some curling and edgewear.

An archive of photographs taken by a young nurse in the late 1940s. Only a few of the photos include captions one of which is a portrait of the "graduating class of Cambridge City Hospital," another is from the photo studio of Chester T. Holbrook in Massachusetts; and another is from Roosevelt Hospital. The photographs are from 1947 and 1949, with one color photo which appears to be later, and show a young nurse's first just after her graduation. The photos show her and her colleagues at work, during their leisure time, and in portraits. The women are seen posed in uniform on the hospital grounds and on the roof of the nurses’ quarters at the hospital. Many of the photos show candids of the nurses and doctors working with patients as well as doing paperwork and in office spaces. Other photos show the nurses and doctors on the roof of the hospital lounging on mattresses presumably taken from the hospital itself. Nurses and doctors are seen reading *Life* magazine and sunbathing as well as drinking and smoking during their time off. They also threw parties in the nurses’ lounge and photos of them laughing, drinking, and enjoying each other’s company.
