Founded in Kansas in 1963 and clearly influence by the Alcoholic’s Anonymous 12 Step Program, the 7th Step Foundation's goal is “reducing recidivism for safer communities through mental fitness and transitional services.” This collection centers on the one-year anniversary of the program at San Quentin Prison with a newsletter (Vol. II, No. I) talking about the progress that has been made by the program their, its members within the prison, and those released who have been helping in their communities.
