Unbound. Real photo postcard. Measuring 3½" x 5½". Sepia-toned gelatin silver print on "Defender" post card back, set loosely into contemporary cardboard folding sleeve. Very faint stain near the collar and a few spots of foxing, very good or better, the sleeve is about fine. Image of a seated young African-American woman in cap and gown, holding a diploma, probably documenting her high school graduation. The configuration of the printed Defender back mark was used between 1920-1940. Photographer unidentified. A handsome image of a female graduate. [With]: commencement program *Annual Graduation Exercises of West Cape May Schools ' 31*. One leaf folded to make four pages. Fifteen students graduated that year.
