Between the Covers

Softcover. Oblong small quarto measuring 10" x 7". String-tied gray paper wrappers with "photographs" printed in red on the front wrapper. Contains 20 sepia-toned or black and white gelatin silver photographs measuring between 5" x 6.5" to 2.5" x 4" with some captions. Very good photo album with some creasing and tiny tears with very good photographs with some creasing. A modest but interesting album of early Kodak photographs of the Brackett family in Maine around 1900. The photographs show the family posing on the porch of their home in fashionable clothes, as well as the grounds of the house. There are also photos of them with their horses and one of a woman in a horse drawn carriage. The landscape of Maine is seen in the pictures as well with photos of the rocky coast, one which is captioned "West Pitch Falls of the Androscoggin at Auburn [Maine]." Additionally the Androscoggin River is seen here as well as winding dirt roads and herds of cattle.
