Hardcover. Two small volumes. [8]pp. each. Illustrated color foil wrappers or celluloid with tassled cord bindings. Very near fine. Two 1930s dance cards from the University of Michigan with Art Deco style illustrations.

The 1935 dance card is for the Sophomore Prom of the 1937 class, held at the Union Ballroom with an illustration of a swanky Art Deco couple rendered in an elongated style.

The 1937 dance card is for the Fourth Annual Interfraternity Ball. The event featured African-American jazz band leader Fletcher Henderson and Chicago dance band leader Charlie Agnew. Both the wrappers and text are illustrated with racist stereotypical images of African-American musicians cheerfully playing horns, banjos, and drums.
