A German family photo album spanning the years from 1930 to 1945. The album shows a variety of events and family members throughout the 15 years that are represented. People are shown posing in silly, lighthearted ways and are also captured in candids. There are photos of a young man and woman on a motorcycle in 1930 and posing with their car. A handful of photos show the family on a trip on the S.S. *Bremen* in November of 1930. Later in the album hints of the gathering storm of World War II are scattered throughout. One photo shows a young Nazi soldier with a swastika armband standing at attention and reads, in English, "mom's brother," most likely written later. Another photo shows a small parade marching through town with soldiers and civilians holding up a swastika banner and one that reads, "Schumacher'sche fabrik" ("Schumacher's Factory"). The album continues with group photos of smiling families celebrating holidays and enjoying the warmer months outside. It seems at some point they visited or immigrated to Aldenville, Pennsylvania because some of the later photos from 1945 are taken there.

A nice collection of German family images with ties to World War II.
