Contemporary cloth with printed spine label. Modest foxing in text, slight and small chips on the spine label, else near fine. Of particular interest is the frontispiece illustration by Childs of three figures, a child with a hoop, a young man with a golf club and ball, and an old man with a walking stick, with the caption: "By various sports, O'er hills, through vallies, and by rivers' brink, is life both sweeten'd and prolong'd".
