Previous owner’s ink address on the front flyleaf, modest staining at the top corner of the contents and the front board; clipping laid in with offsetting at the rear, else near very good. Inscribed by the author: "In His Love. Bessie Lee Cowie. Worlds W.C.T.U." Born in Australia, Cowie (1860-1950) was a New Zealand temperance campaigner, social reformer, lecturer, and writer. At the end of the book, Cowie solicits additional sales of the book for a dollar per copy, and provides a Honolulu address.
