Hardcover. Reprint. Pale brown boards, small chips on the edges of a couple of leaves, very good. An interesting volume: the publication information has been altered with a label to read "Louisville, Ky., National Library Co." and there are two printed labels - one for a lending library run by the National Library Co. and the second of a Texas bookseller: "J.E. Mason, Librarian, Bookseller & Stationer, 185 Market Street, Corner of Centre, Galveston, Texas. December 2nd, 1889". Presumably Mason ran a private lending library from his store in Galveston, and distributed books from the Kentucky concern. Interesting insight into book distribution in the American West.
