Hardcover. First edition. Quarto. Light of sunning along the topedge else fine in else fine dustwrapper with a touch of edge wear. Signed. Considered by many Sorrentino's finest and funniest novel, a postmodernist tale of an avant-garde novelist slowing going insane as works to finish his latest book, a "new wave murder mystery." Sorrentino served an editor of the literary magazines *Kulchur* and *Neon*, the latter with his college friend Hubert Selby Jr. Later he helped Selby's with his novel, *Last Exit to Brooklyn* and was a contributing editor on *The Autobiography of Malcolm X* while at Grove Press. Sorrentino later taught at a number of colleges including Sarah Lawrence, Columbia, The New School for Social Research, and Stanford, where he taught future Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Jeffrey Eugenides. A lovely copy of the difficult to find hardcover published simultaneous with the wrappered edition.
