Between the Covers

Unbound. Panoramic photograph. Approximately 38" x 8". Two tears on one margin, rolled with some waviness, moderate fading at the extremities, overall very good. Some contemporary notes on the verso indicating where the writer was in the picture. The photo depicts a baseball game in the distance surrounded by a host of soldiers, many on horseback. The Miller Huggins-managed 1918 Yankees included Roger Peckinpaugh, Wally Pipp, Bob Shawkey, Dazzy Vance, and Frank "Home Run" Baker.
