Inscribed to Robert Wallis on the front free endpaper of volume one. Very good with fading and chipping to the wraps, and the usual browning to the text pages. Colonel Rémy, a.k.a. Gilbert Renault, was a secret agent and hero of the French Resistance. He organized a network of intelligence agents in occupied France. Various allied raids were carried out with the aid of reports received from him, and he managed to elude the Gestapo for nearly two years with a wife and four children on his hands.
