Hardcover. Square octavo. [18], 246, [2]pp., with a facsimile engraving of the original title page from the first edition, and two pages of advertisements at the back. Bookseller's ticket on front pastedown: (H. Guy, Chelmsford) and later bookseller's ticket on back free endpaper. Inscribed on the front free endpaper (dated 1891), and early owner's signature in neat ink on the dedication page. In the original printed paper boards, untrimmed, and housed in a professionally made cloth slipcase with an inner cloth chemise. Both covers heavily rubbed, spine back mostly perished,text block is neatly split in half, front cover neatly detached between the title page and dedication leaf, back cover nearly detached (holding by one stitch), else very good: text pages are clean and supple, with an 1809 watermark visible. Scarce. *OCLC* locates only two copies of the 1810 edition.
