Norton Otis and Robert F. Brinton's bookplates on front pastedown, stamp on title page, boards and endpapers detached but present, leather is dry and brittle along the extremities, thus fair only. Norton Otis along with other family members are represented on pages 340-345. Otis was elected as a Republican to the Fifty-eighth Congress in 1903. President of the "Otis Electric Company", which was started by his father, and responsible for the invention of the passenger elevator.
