Recipient’s ownership signature, one corner a little bumped, a very good plus copy in a good only, but presentable dustwrapper with some skinning to the bottom portion of the rear panel. Author’s fifth book, amusingly inscribed: “To the Browns with affectionate blessings from the Rev. Peter De Vries.” De Vries, a longtime *New Yorker* contributor, was possessed of a subtle sense of humor that pleased his audience but was perhaps not quite overt enough to attract a wider readership.
