16mo (15 cm); 288 pp.,  leaves of plates, illustrated. A good copy in publisher's crimson red embossed leather bindings with wear to the edges, very moderate rubbing to the boards, front board gently bowed, front joint split and loose at the lower hinge, with about an inch and half chip from the lower spine, else sound and tight. All edges gilt, with gilt spine title and date (1837) missing the last two numbers; endpapers soiled, some moderate foxing to the front and back endleaves. Illustrated throughout with wood-engravings, with an added illustrated title page and 17 plates of wood-engravings printed on colored papers (dark yellow, light peach, salmon and blue); and a very fine copperplate or steel-engraved frontispiece. Scarce: OCLC lists only one copy at the American Antiquarian Society.
