Unbound. Document. 11" x 15" folded. In Latin dated 21 March 1688. A few small tears and remnants of an old wax seal, unfaded and near fine. The appointment of Grandison Turner to the Vicarage and living of Great Hallingbury, Signed by Phillip Betts, and witnessed by Thomas Rant, Robert Huntington, E. Turner, C. Turner, Thomas Stock, Philemore Rolfe, John Chalk(e?), and Thomas Saltwell. The appointment was approved by John Goodman, Professor of Theology. The Diocesan seal for London between the two sheets of paper. The living was under the patronage of Sir Edward Turner, the Lord of the Manor of Hallingbury, and petitioner to various monarchs for money owed to his father by Charles II.
