Basis for the 1926 film *Nell Gwynne* directed by Herbert Wilcox and featuring Dorothy Gish in the title role. The book is dedicated to Gish, who the author anticipated would play the part. Remade by Wilcox in 1934 as *Nell Gwyn* featuring Anna Neagle and Cedric Hardwicke. A bright and attractive copy.
