The Poetical Works of Oliver Goldsmith with An Account of His Life and Writings

London: Published by W. Suttaby, B. Crosby & Co. and Scatcherd & Letterman, 1809.

Price: $275.00

Hardcover. American issue with British sheets. 12mo. Printed papercovered boards (with imprint of Baltimore, Published by F. Lucas, Jun. and G. Palmer, Philadelphia, 1813). Modest erosion to the paper at the spine ends and to the front board, still a sound and attractive, very good copy. Apparently the fact that the U.S. was at war with Britain excused the false imprint of the American publisher.
