Unbound. Small engraving. 10 1/4" x 7 1/2". Engraving by Portch. Bust portrait with facsimile signature below. Slight discoloration and wear around the edges, very good or better. Engraving of either John Samuel Murray II (1778-1843) or John Murray III (1808-1892). Father and son were a part of the Murray family printing dynasty that reigned from 1768 to 1967. A quick perusal of the subject suggests that it is John Murray II, as he lost the sight in his right eye when it was accidentally pierced by his writing master's penknife.
