Boston: Little, Brown, and Company, 1933.
Hardcover. First edition. Octavo. Blue cloth stamped in gilt. Erosion of the cloth at the crown, spine lettering rubbed and soiled, a sound good or better copy lacking the dustwrapper. Inscribed by the author to his sister-in-law, Marian Wells Hall, the wife of his brother and fellow author George Seldes: "To my dear sister Marian who shall have honey and myrrh instead of locusts. Gillie. 20 January 1933." Small post-it note affixed in the hand of Gilbert's daughter, the actress Marian Seldes, identifying the recipient. A nice association.
