Bound in contemporary black polished calf, gold tooled borders on front and back covers, gilt spines with raised bands, marbled endpapers, all edges marbled. Joints and edges of the boards are rubbed, scattered scratches on the covers, toning and scattered foxing, a good only but attractive set with hand gold-tooling.
