Block is a very amenable signer, but if you meet him be careful about asking him to sign your books. We once asked him to sign one of his early pseudonymous paperbacks. He looked at it in astonishment, declared, "I haven't seen one of these in 30 years," and with exuberant (and dare we say somewhat sadistic) relish, opened the book 180° before signing with a satisfied smile.
