Summerhill: A Radical Approach to Child Rearing First edition. Foreword by Erich Fromm. Lacks the promotional pamphlet. Slight sunning at the base of the spine, else fine in a slightly worn, very good plus dustwrapper with tiny nicks and tears. Publisher Harold Hart approached Neill to write about his controversial school, and together compiled this book from Neill's other works, which became the number one non-fiction bestseller in the U.S. The effect of the book helped to promulgate Neill's educational theories, as well as reviving the flagging attendance at the long-running experimental school that he had founded in 1921 in Germany in conjunction with the Neue Schule, and then moved to England in 1923. Exceptionally uncommon. [BTC #99278] |
