Second printing. Fine in attractive, price-clipped, very good or better dustwrapper. First novel, about a raw Indiana farmboy in the Civil War, by a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist. With: original, alternative jacket art by Peter Laune, who provided the finished jacket art for the book. Tempura painting, approximately 6.5" x 8.5", matted, and with a label on the verso for an exhibition of Laune's jacket paintings. The printed jacket displays a Union solider on guard duty; the original, variant art displays a Union assault.
