First American edition. Translated by William Aspenwell Bradley. A bookplate on the front pastedown and a neat owner's name on the front fly else fine in an attractive, very good dustwrapper with mild tanning on the spine. A very nice copy, basis for the witty 1954 Rene Clement film Monsieur Ripois (also released in the U.S. as Lovers, Happy Lovers).
