Hardcover. First edition. Small quarto. Red cloth stamped in red, white, blue, and gilt. Top edge gilt. 350pp. Map, 31 gravure photographic plates. Some sunning to the spine, with lettering lightened but easily readable, a little rubbed, else a near fine copy. Printed letter laid in presenting the report (letter has considerable wear). A handsomely printed volume, with lovely gravure photos, mostly portraits of the board members, but with some illustrations from the Exposition as well. An extensive report on the formation of the legendary St. Louis Fair, which though now primarily associated with Judy Garland, was initially associated with the Centennial of the Louisiana Purchase. Very uncommon. *OCLC* locates only three copies of this – two in California, and one in Alaska.
