First American edition. A very good copy in a near very good dustwrapper with a chip at the crown, and some overall modest wear. Inscribed by the author to Shirley Jackson's biographer: "For Judy Oppenheimer, with all fond wishes, Aldous Huxley 1956." Huxley's continuation of his experiments with mind-altering substances, begun with The Doors of Perception.
