KELLER, Helen

One Page Typed Letter Signed [with] Flyer for the American Foundation for the Blind

Octavo. One page typed letter Signed ("Helen Keller") in pencil to Mrs. Steers, dated 31 December 1930 on her 93 Seminole Ave., Forest Hills stationery. Folded as mailed, a trifle worn, very near fine. Approximately 150 words, essentially a fund-raising letter: "Out of the night of my individual blindness has come a call -- the urge of others' need. It is as persistent as the love-note which the motherbird hears when her nestlings are in trouble; and I know it will never cease until the wall of darkness has been broken down..." Accompanied by a pamphlet about the American Foundation for the Blind. One leaf folded to make four pages, photographic image of Keller applied to the front page, with a sentiment and her signature in facsimile.
