LEWIS, Sinclair

Main Street: The Story of Carol Kennicott

Twenty-first printing, published six months after the first printing. Rear hinge slightly tender, still a nice and bright, near fine copy in a nice, very good plus dustwrapper with a split at the bottom of the front spine fold. Lewis' first major success, a realistic portrayal of Midwestern life, and the first of several important novels for which he became the first American to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. A relatively early jacketed copy, and scarce thus. The first printing in original jacket is a rarity.
