HUGGINS, Roy
Too Late for Tears
First edition. Just a touch of rubbing at the bottom corners, still fine in near fine dustwrapper with subtle fading at the spine, and a couple of very tiny nicks. Inscribed by the author: "...and again, Roy." Although not indicated the book was inscribed to Thomas Wakefield Blackburn, an author of western novels, and a writer for both film and television (Sugarfoot, Maverick, The Virginian, Daniel Boone, and Davy Crocket among others). A nice copy of an important hard-boiled novel, basis for an atmospheric noir film of the same name directed by Byron Haskin, and featuring Lizabeth Scott, Dan DeFore, and Dan Duryea. Huggins' second novel. Several of his books were filmed, he wrote several screenplays, and he was the creator or co-creator of such classic television series as The Fugitive, The Rockford Files, and Maverick. More recently he produced both the film The Fugitive and its sequel U.S. Marshals. Exceptionally scarce, signed copies are particularly uncommon.
