First edition. Small owner stamp, near fine in a modestly rubbed, very good plus dustwrapper with a few small nicks and short tears. A play based on the Scottsboro case that featured Claude Rains in its original debut. Jacket blurbs by Countee Cullen, S.N. Behrman, and Robert Benchley. The author also wrote or co-wrote several screenplays including Angels With Dirty Faces and The Amazing Dr. Clitterhouse.
