A "disturbingly beautiful" young woman leaves home when her widowed father marries an attractive but unprincipled widow, goes to Hollywood, becomes a film star, and has romances. An uncommon instance of the Burt edition being the true first. *OCLC* lists seven copies (with no indication which, if any, have jackets).
